1. Information QueryLift accesses
QueryLift accesses information from a merchant's Shopify store that is necessary to provide catalog auditing, AI-assisted recommendations, product updates, change history, and related app functionality.
This may include:
- Shopify shop domain and store identifiers.
- Product and catalog information, including product titles, descriptions, product types, tags, categories, and related product metadata.
- Shopify authentication and session information required to securely connect QueryLift to the merchant's store.
- Records of supported product changes made through QueryLift.
- AI usage information, including task type and token usage.
2. Customer and order data
QueryLift's current functionality does not require or use Shopify customer data, order data, payment information, or customer contact information.
QueryLift is designed to operate on merchant product and catalog information.
3. How information is used
QueryLift uses store information to:
- Audit product catalog data for potential quality gaps.
- Generate AI-assisted recommendations for supported product fields.
- Allow merchants to review and apply supported product changes.
- Maintain change history and support undo functionality.
- Track AI usage and enforce app usage limits.
- Maintain authentication, security, reliability, and app operations.
- Comply with applicable Shopify platform and legal requirements.
4. AI processing
When a merchant requests an AI recommendation, relevant product information may be sent to OpenAI for processing in order to generate the requested recommendation.
QueryLift limits the information sent for AI processing to the product information and contextual data needed to perform the requested task.
5. Service providers
QueryLift uses third-party service providers to operate the app. These providers may process information on QueryLift's behalf for purposes such as hosting, database storage, artificial intelligence processing, and Shopify platform functionality.
Current service providers include:
- Shopify — store authentication, platform APIs, and app distribution.
- OpenAI — processing supported AI recommendation requests.
- Render — application hosting and runtime infrastructure.
- Prisma Postgres — application database infrastructure.
Information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions in which these service providers operate.
6. Information stored by QueryLift
QueryLift may retain operational information associated with a Shopify store, including:
- Shop and session records.
- Change history records.
- AI usage records.
- AI usage reservation records.
These records are used only as necessary to operate, secure, and support QueryLift.
7. Data retention and deletion
QueryLift retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and operational records, or meet legal and Shopify platform requirements.
Shopify session records are removed when the app is uninstalled. QueryLift also responds to Shopify's required privacy compliance webhooks.
When Shopify sends a valid shop data redaction request, QueryLift removes stored shop-associated operational records covered by that request, including applicable change history and AI usage records.
8. Data sharing and sale
QueryLift does not sell merchant or store data to advertisers or data brokers.
Information is shared only with service providers when necessary to operate QueryLift, comply with legal obligations, protect the service, or fulfill merchant-requested functionality.
9. Security
QueryLift uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Merchant choices
Merchants can stop QueryLift from accessing their Shopify store by uninstalling the app.
Merchants may also contact QueryLift to ask questions about stored information or request assistance with privacy-related matters.
11. Changes to this policy
QueryLift may update this Privacy Policy as the app, its service providers, or applicable requirements change.
The date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last updated.
